Diamond clarity refers to the presence and type of inclusions in a diamond or blemishes found on a diamond.
Diamond inclusions can be a foreign body, a crack or even a different diamond crystal.
Diamond blemishes are defects on a diamonds surface.
The clarity of a diamond is affected by the amount of inclusions or blemishes, their locations, size, visibility etc. Often inclusions can be hidden by a clever-designed jewelry setting.
Eye clean diamonds
An eye clean diamond is one without any visible inclusion, which is a definite plus for diamond consumers.
